Rachel Truscott, an up-and-coming Sacramento creative, wanted a business card design that both expressed her unique way of viewing the world and helped brand her as an artist. I was head designer for this project while working at Wallrich Creative Communications.
In playing with the letters of her name, I found that the actual word “ART” could be spelt out if her name was displayed out in two vertical columns of type. Although an unorthodox typographic solution, the treatment absolutely ties in with Rachel’s work and personality. To not make the message too overbearing, the only treatment “ART” received was a clear foil overlay. The backs come in variations, each with her website placed in a way that interacts with the specific piece of artwork.
