One of the three pieces, taken in a rural area of Chico, CA.
Oftentimes we are told to look at the bigger picture. This photography series focuses on point of view, and how looking at the same space in different ways can be revealing. I’m very passionate about not littering the world with trash, so this project was meant to show perceived pristine scenery versus a different reality upon closer examination (hence the title ‘Looking Down’). All trash photographs were taken in very close proximity to where the paired landscape panorama was taken. The litter was not moved or altered before photographing. The original prints are 60 inches wide.
Pristine lake, and it’s trash.
Beautiful running trail, and it’s trash.
